Nicholas Tse Ting-fung and Cecilia Cheung Pak-chi

Hong Kong stars Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung started publicly dating in 2002, getting married after four years. Tse announced that the couple eloped in the Philippines on a private island and only “had time to invite about 10 friends”, reports Today Online.

In 2008, Cheung was one of the celebrities who got caught up in the infamous Edison Chen photo scandal. (For those not in the know, Chen’s private photos of himself with various women – including famous local actresses – were stolen and posted online, causing a furore.) Despite the media frenzy, Tse stood by Cheung and supported her.

During their five year marriage, Cheung criticised Tse for being an “irresponsible and absent father” for their two sons, Lucas and Quintus, reports Jayne Stars. After their split in 2011, Tse has been spotted with former flame Faye Wong – who he dated throughout the late 90s and early 2000s – on several occasions. Meanwhile, Cheung had a third baby boy, but the father remains unknown to the public.

Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong

One of TVB’s iconic couples, Myolie Wu Hang-yee and Bosco Wong Chung-chak met on the sets of Triumph in the Skies. When they played a couple in Wars of In-laws, many viewers believed that they were also dating in real life. After keeping the relationship under wraps, Wu finally announced the news after winning the best actress award for her performance in Curse of the Royal Harem in 2011.

There were rumours that Wong cheated on Wu during the eight-year relationship, and the couple eventually broke up in 2012. Despite Wong being emotional about the split in a radio interview, Next Magazine reported that Wong was “only acting to keep his faithful image”, according to Jayne Stars.

Since their break-up, Wu married Phillip Lee in 2015 and gave birth to her third son earlier this year. As for Wong, he’s been linked to a number of celebrities despite his denials. Lately, he was rumoured to be dating Weng Xiaojun, the daughter of a Chinese jewellery tycoon, according to Today Online.

Kenneth Ma and Jacqueline Wong

Like our previous couple, Kenneth Ma Kwok-ming and Jacqueline Wong Sum-wing also met each other while working together at TVB. After competing in the Miss Hong Kong 2012 pageant, Wong met Ma in 2015 drama Inspector Gourmet and began seeing each other. They officially announced their relationship two years later while they worked on Deep in the Realm of Conscience, according to Topick.hket.

In 2019, Wong was caught in a cheating scandal along with Canto-pop star Andy Hui Chi-on, who married fellow singer Sammi Cheng in 2013. Leaked footage revealed the pair getting intimate in the back seat of a taxi, reports 8 Days. While Cheng was able to forgive her husband, Ma revealed in an interview that he broke up with Wong in 2019. However, Wong emphasised that they have remained friends.

Ma is no stranger to dating his TVB co-stars. He previously dated actress Nancy Wu. Now, he’s currently dating TVB actress Roxanne Tong and there are rumours that wedding bells might be ringing for them soon …

Alex Fong and Stephy Tang

Working together on hit track Love Earnestly in 2004, Alex Fong and Stephy Tang Lai-yan were a couple who plenty of Canto-pop enthusiasts shipped. The pair were also frequently seen portraying couples in hit films like Marriage with a Fool and Love Is Not All Around, soon becoming one of Hong Kong’s most popular pair of on-screen lovebirds.

While Tang and Fong kept their relationship hidden initially, they were frequently seen travelling together, such as when they were spotted at the W Hotel in The Maldives, according to Dramasian. Fans rejoiced when they announced they were a couple in 2010 and sparked wedding rumours.

However, in 2016, Fong and Tang announced their break-up through their management company, putting an end to their decade-long relationship. According to Tang, she and Fong drifted apart naturally, adding that they separated because they “understand each other too well”, reports Her World.

Miriam Yeung and Ronald Cheng

Canto-pop stars Miriam Yeung and Ronald Cheng were briefly involved with each other in 1999. When the pair first met on show Sunday New Zone that was hosted by Yeung, Cheng was a budding new star who fell in love with Yeung at first sight, reports Minnews.

Doing everything he could to get his feelings across, Cheng ultimately dedicated his hit song February 3 to Yeung, named after her birthday.

The couple eventually broke up after rumours of Cheng attempting to pursue other stars emerged. Yeung even had her former lover blacklisted from her wedding to Real Ting in 2010, reports Jayne Stars. But according to Yahoo!, in later interviews Yeung denied that Cheng cheated on her.

Like the saying goes, time heals all wounds, which was definitely the case for Cheng and Yeung. For his Play It Again tour in 2017, Cheng invited Yeung as a special guest for his concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum. While the pair sang a few songs together, fans were enamoured to see the ex-couple smiling and hugging each other.
