26 miles northwest of Marfa, Texas, sits a time capsule of mid-aughts luxury fashion. Elmgreen and Dragset's Prada Marfa was built to deteriorate and "become one" with the surrounding land, but that idea was abandoned when it was vandalized six days after completion. After visiting, head to Donald Judd's Chinanti Foundation, a 35-minute drive down Highway 90.

Frida Kahlo's Casa Azul

Frida Kahlo was born and died in this beautiful adobe house in the Coyoacán neighborhood of Mexico City. Now a museum, the structure contains works by Kahlo and her husband Diego Rivera and their contemporaries, as well as items owned by the couple during their lifetimes.

Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye

The Savoye family commissioned their summer retreat from architect Le Corbusier in 1929. Completed in 1931, the structure adheres closest to Le Corbusier's "five points" mission. A 35-minute drive from the center of Paris, Villa Savoye can be toured every day of the week except Monday.

The Flower Carpet of Brussels

Every two years since 1971, Brussels welcomes a massive carpet made of more than 600,000 flowers to the city's Grand Place. The 2016 flower carpet will be open from April 12 to 16.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater

Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater (also known as the Kaufmann Residence) sits atop a waterfall in Stewart Township, PA, just 43 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Completed in 1939, the structure is considered one of the finest examples of Wright's work.

More than 100 sculptures from artists like Alexander Calder and Roy Lichtenstein reside on more thans 50 acres at Storm King, just 60 miles north of New York City.

Bauhaus Dessau

Dessau was the home of the Bauhaus school from 1925 to 1932. A two-hour drive (or train ride) from Berlin, you can "spend the night like a Bauhausler" and sleep inside the Studio Building. A fair warning: you're also required to use the communal bathrooms.
