Zach Braff, who directed the film A Good Person, which came out this year, said Florence Pugh caused a “production nightmare” on set.
The movie director dated the actress for three years between 2019 and 2022. The Hollywood picture is about Alison (Florence) forming a bond with her would-be-father-in-law (Morgan Freeman) after tragedy strikes. One scene saw the 28-year-old insistent on making a bold move on set, which then made it difficult for the rest of production.

Florence Pugh caused a production ‘nightmare’ for Zach Braff
In an interview with UNILAD, the TV actor and director explained Florence wanting to cut off her own hair caused issues for the rest of the shoot and had told her it was “impossible.” However, the Midsommar star told him he would “figure it out.”
“Florence had the idea that she cuts her hair, which is a production nightmare because we’re shooting completely out of order, and if a character is going to have hair in one scene and chopped hair in the other,” Zach explained.
He said he didn’t want to use a wig as he “doesn’t particularly like the way” the accessory looks.

“You don’t want to use wigs because I don’t particularly like the way wigs look, particularly on a low-budget movie – I don’t even think high-budget movie wigs look good – so we had a real puzzle put together, ‘How can we have Florence cut her hair live on camera and then schedule everything so that the scenes with hair happen first?’” he told the publication.
In the end, Florence won and the celebrity ended up cutting her own hair off in the film.
Zach continued: “I kept saying ‘That’s impossible’ and Florence kept saying, ‘You guys will figure it out’ and we eventually did figure it out! So that was the biggest transformation. Some people thought that was a wig but she chopped it off on camera.”
Zach and Florence’s relationship
Despite the fact they parted ways two years ago, the former celebrity couple have been open about their split and continued to be supportive of each other publically. Hence, the film earlier this year, with Florence’s character was written for her.
When they split, Florence said: “We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on.”
The two had quite a big age gap. Florence Pugh was 24 when they started dating, while Zach Braff was 44. “We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve don’t that.
“I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it.”
‘I’m old enough to pay taxes but not old enough to choose my relationships’
In 2020, the star called out people who had been judgmental of the couple in an Instagram video. “The abuse that you throw at him is abuse that you are throwing at me, and I don’t want those followers. I do not want to have to be protecting my comments every time I post a picture of him.
“I really hope that I can continue this relationship with a lot of you. I’ve always found it funny, how I can be good enough for people to watch my work and support my work and pay for tickets, and I’m old enough to be an adult and pay taxes, but I’m not old enough to know who I should and should not have sex with.”
Zach opened up about his feelings towards the video a few months later, saying he couldn’t think of anything better to follow up with as Florence had said what she had, and so he “chose not to.”
“She literally sat down, hit record on her phone and said that. I thought: how could I possibly follow anything as intelligent and articulate as that? So, I chose not to.”
