Miley Cyrus has been seen out and about in many incarnations: wearing lots of makeup; wearing a little makeup; wearing normal clothes; wearing pretty much no clothes. (Remember this?) So, when we saw her chilling in Malibu yesterday wearing no makeup (but plenty of clothes) with her mom, Tish, her sister Noah, and some friends, we paid attention. Because if there’s anything we love, it’s a celebrity hanging out makeup-free.

While everyone else in the world was seemingly at the Oscars, at an Oscars viewing party, or watching the Oscars in some capacity, Cyrus & fam kept it low-key by going to Soho House’s Little Beach House. These photos, just like their destination, are a study in casual chic: Miley may be wearing no makeup, but she’s also sporting a very “oh, this old thing?” vibe. Behold:

From the looks of it, Tish is definitely wearing makeup, but Miley totally sidestepped the mascara or whatever. She was also spotted chilling with friends earlier in the day in Malibu, looking zero percent interested in lipstick or the Oscars, but 100 percent interested in emoji purses and high ponytails. Is this a crew from a ’90s film, or just Miley and her pals having a day out in Malibu? Really, who can say. We can, however, say without a doubt that Miley looks great without makeup, and inspires the rest of us to do the same.
