Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been spotted in separate outings recently and experts claim it’s a tactic to boost their reputations.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were once celebrities with individual identities but in 2023, the two royals are a duo who cannot be mentioned without one another. The phrase “Harry and Meghan” practically rolls off the tongue.
That may be changing as the couple has been stepping out separately as the Duchess attended Beyonce’s Renaissance birthday concert for a second time with her famous pals, Kerry Washington and Kelly Rowland, in early September.
Fast forward one week later, Prince Harry opened the Invictus Games 2023 without his wife by his side, who arrived three days later in Dusseldorf, Germany. According to one PR expert, their solo trips may be the royals‘ latest move to recover their reputation.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘distancing themselves’ in attempt to boost popularity
According to Ed Coram James, the CEO of the London digital marketing agency, Go Up, the Sussexes are pursuing individual projects to break away from their joint brand and bring focus to their two distinct identities.
“The idea is that, by resetting the brand, they release some of the toxicity,” says the PR crisis and management expert. “By distancing himself from Meghan, when in public, Harry gives himself the opportunity to be viewed in the same light that he was back in his bachelor days when his polling numbers were through the roof.”
The situation is similar for Meghan, who can “go back to being viewed as the hard-working and successful actor that she was before she met the Duke.”
Before dating Harry, Meghan was a beloved TV actress on Suits with a fan-favorite lifestyle blog called The Tig. The Duchess shut down her passion project in 2017, months before her royal engagement.
Harry, meanwhile, never received the current level of scrutiny in his younger years despite his reputation as something of a rebel.
Meghan Markle potentially reviving The Tig
James’ comments may be on the right track as March 2023 reports emerged claiming that the Duchess was resurrecting her blog.
United States Patent And Trademark Office records show that Frim Fram Inc, the company that ran The Tig before its closure, filed a patent on February 25, 2022.
Documents show the official cursive logo of The Tig, and a description of the service: “Providing a website featuring non-downloadable articles, interviews, and photographs in the field of food, cooking, recipes, travel, relationships, fashion, style, lifestyle, the arts, culture, design, conscious living, and health and wellness.”
There is yet to be a confirmed launch date but the word on the street is that Meghan is looking to rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s eccentric wellness brand, The Goop, with The Tig’s new direction.
The website, named after Markle’s favorite red wine, Tignanello, focused on wellness and lifestyle tips but with the alleged new venture, she could be releasing products.
