Taylor Swift’s touching tribute to a young fan who lost her life a few days ago has won over her fans.

After the successful US leg of Taylor Swift‘s Eras tour, the singer set out to make waves internationally by performing overseas. She recently played concerts back-to-back in Argentina and Brazil. However, following extreme weather conditions, the celebrity had to make several adjustments to the gigs including postponing one show in Argentina. But even after taking all the safety measures, the heat wave in Brazil claimed the life of a concertgoer. Ana Clara Benevides Machado, a 23-year superfan, sadly died of a cardiac arrest after suffering heat stroke while attending the Eras tour.

After paying an emotional tribute to Ana Clara Benevides Machado, Taylor Swift also met with her family before her final show in the country. Her grieving family wore t-shirts with Ana’s happy face on it in her memory.

The music icon’s kind gesture to remember the superfan after the tragic incident has touched many hearts.

Taylor also wrote a heart-wrenching homage to the fan on her Instagram before taking the stage at Rio de Janeiro. The 12-times-Grammy-winning legend wrote: “I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was incredibly beautiful and far too young.”

“I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”

Ana’s mother thanks Taylor Swift

After massive crowdfunding from fans which helped Ana’s family bring her body home, the fan’s mother Ana Benevidez shared that Taylor’s team has also reached out to the family with the intention of any help that they might need.

A report reveals meetings between the singer’s team and the fan’s family took place during the week. They also extended an invitation to watch Sunday’s show in São Paulo and Taylor’s team signaled the singer’s intention to help her family.

“For all the attention, thank you for the respect, affection, and solidarity expressed,” Adriana said via a statement.
